For organizational purposes, Conferences are considered to be events with the opportunity for the submission of original work that is subject to peer review. Workshops are one-off or annual events designed to be more instructive, thematic, or working group focused. Finally, Seminars are more frequently occurring events usually consisting of 1-2 talks per occurrence. This are not hard lines but rather a mechanism to help distinguish between the varied event types present in the field.
